The Empire strikes back The Guardian has noticed that politicians are more keen on financing new libraries than museums or gallery projects. Why public libraries are glamming up Nature blogs about a “Brazilian citation scheme” and reveals by that how broken the academic publishing system seems to be.
Since I am constantly harvesting the net for interesting articles and blogposts about anything academia, book or publishing related I would like to start sharing some of the most interesting links with you. This is what I found this week: “The Empire strikes back” is a blogpost by Eric van De Velde. He is looking at the role research libraries may play in times of open access. Should libraries become publishers? Well we think they should certainly provide applications for academic writing and publishing. 😉
